Road to Emmaus: Deconstructing and Reconstructing Faith
Beneath dim steeples, shadows stretch and sigh,
We drift through city streets, our spirits dry.
With doctrines filling minds, our hearts now tire,
Disillusioned, we lose our inner fire.
Cultural tides shift, leaving us adrift,
Traditional moorings lost in the rift.
Through darkened nights, our maturing faith is tried,
Seeking the light where deeper truths reside.
On modern roads to Emmaus, we tread,
Deconstructing the paths that lie ahead.
A stranger joins, with wisdom to impart,
Reframing truths that once confined our heart.
Through study deep and practices profound,
We blend our minds and spirits, newly found.
Embracing diverse voices, rich and wide,
Our faith rebuilt, with depth on every side.
In breaking bread, our eyes are opened wide,
The divine presence walking by our side.
Reconstructed faith from fragments born,
A paradigm renewed, our spirits worn.
With humble hearts, we heed the quiet call,
Embracing purpose, ready to stand tall.
Returning to Jerusalem’s embrace,
We seek to serve, empowered by His grace.
