Where questions meet God’s presence

"In the city’s fast pace, spiritual direction invites us to slow down, to breathe, and to notice the Divine even in the seemingly mundane."

I grew up in Chicago, where Campus Life shaped my early spiritual journey. For 20 years, I served as a pastor and community developer in Pittsburgh, working in pastoral counseling, community development, and healthcare for the underserved. There, I also became a Spiritual Director, guiding people into deeper union with God, especially among the marginalized.

I’ve led spiritual formation retreats in Gabon, India, and Japan and have been shaped by encounters with God in both tragedy and joy. For over 40 years, I’ve walked alongside others on their spiritual journeys—a calling that remains my passion. And I’m likely out for a run when I'm not doing that!

I’m a Korean-American who grew up in Boston. For over twenty years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as an ordained pastor with several church plants. Throughout my journey, I’ve witnessed God’s healing power in pastoral counseling, the deep transformation in communities through discipleship, and the impact of developmental work in Nepal.

What truly shapes and fuels my passion is walking alongside those seeking a deeper understanding of their faith, God, and purpose. I honor and respect all walks of life and faith, creating a safe and welcoming space for reflection, exploration, and discovery—or even rediscovery. Whether in seasons of joy or struggle, I consider it a privilege to journey with others as they seek to recognize God’s presence in their lives—finding Immanuel, God with us, in the midst of it all.

I am originally from Kansas but have made my home in St. Louis for many years now and consider it one of the best cities in the world. There you can find me serving with my wife and three kids, loving on urban pastors and leaders, and hanging out with my neighbors and friends. I am ordained and have been doing urban ministry for 20 years. I deeply appreciate the opportunity to listen to my friends or anyone that would trust me to be a companion. I welcome all people and consider it my privilege to hear your stories, invite God to speak in our midst, and walk with you in your journey. And, I am extremely passionate about bacon!

I am a bi-cultural woman (Ecuadorian Dad and American Mom) and have wrestled with my own liminality. In the States, I have made my home in Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago. I have also lived for a short time in La Serena, Chile and in Cuenca, Ecuador. I feel very fortunate to say that from a young age, I had a felt sense of God's love for me and also experienced a real freedom to question and challenge theologies that did not align with that love. As a result, I have wandered in and out of contemplative, mainline, charismatic, evangelical, and progressive streams of Christianity as I continually seek the ever-expansive love of God. Spending time in nature is my favorite spiritual practice as I always feel more connected to myself, to others, and to the Divine after looking at the sky.
