Where questions meet God’s presence

"In the city’s fast pace, spiritual direction invites us to slow down, to breathe, and to notice the Divine even in the seemingly mundane."

Certified Spiritual Directors & MSD Facilitators

Bruce Jackson

Grew up in Chicago, where Campus Life shaped my early faith. Spent 20 years in Pittsburgh as a pastor and community developer, serving the underserved through counseling, community development, and healthcare. I’m also a Spiritual Director, helping people pursue deeper union with God, especially on the margins.

I’ve led formation retreats in Gabon, India, and Japan. For over 40 years, I’ve walked alongside others on their spiritual journeys, shaped by God in both tragedy and joy. When I’m not doing that, I’m probably out for a run.

Korean-American raised in Boston. For over twenty years, I have served as an ordained pastor in several church plants. Along the way, I have seen God’s healing in pastoral counseling, community transformation through discipleship, and the impact of development work in Nepal. My passion is walking with people seeking a deeper understanding of faith, God, and purpose. I welcome all backgrounds and offer a safe space for reflection and discovery. In joy or struggle, I help others notice Immanuel, God with us.

Certified Spiritual Directors

A bi-cultural woman (Ecuadorian dad and American mom) who has wrestled with liminality. In the States, I have made a home in Houston, SF, LA, and Chicago, and also lived briefly in Chile and Ecuador. From a young age, I have known God’s love and felt free to question theologies that did not reflect it. I have moved in and out of contemplative, mainline, charismatic, evangelical, and progressive streams while seeking God’s ever-expansive love. Nature is a favorite spiritual practice, especially looking at the sky, bringing a deeper connection to self, others, and the Divine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? Please, send them our way. We’d love to hear from you.

  • Each director sets their own rate. In general, sessions range from $75 to $150. Cost should not prevent anyone from receiving spiritual direction, so bring up financial concerns when you reach out, and we will work with you.

  • A typical session is about one hour. Most people meet about once a month, though some meet more frequently depending on their season and needs.

  • All of our directors offer virtual sessions. Some also offer in person sessions in their local area. Check each director’s location listing and contact them directly to coordinate details.

  • Expect a calm, unhurried space for prayerful listening, reflection, and discernment around where God is present in your life. Spiritual direction is not therapy, crisis counseling, or coaching, though it can complement those supports.

  • Confidentiality is taken seriously. If cost is a barrier, ask about sliding scale options. We also offer a special opportunity: a free, year-long journey with our spiritual directors in training, a mutual gift that supports their formation while offering you consistent companionship.
