Unhurried Freedom
Bound by the lists on our calendars tight,
Breathless we move, meeting after night.
Our attention devoted, all given away,
To give our children the best every day.
Caught in the whirlwind of trends and deals,
Chained by the invisible grasp that steals.
Why do we drive ourselves in this quest?
What is this force, never letting us rest?
Who demands we run without cease,
As seven days blur, our peace decreased?
Where is the space for God in this race?
Has His presence been lost in our haste?
What if we paused, distractions released,
And sought the calm, where His love increased?
In slowing down, we might clearly see,
That in His presence, we’re truly free.
